Toro 51599 Review – The Amazing Things You Can Do With This Electric Blower
After experimenting with a lot of cheap gasoline run blower/vacuum cleaners, I bought this Toro electric blower cleaner from Amazon.com/. I was frustrated as these blower/vacuum cleaners failed, most often earlier than expected, because of inferior design.
Since I have the habit of using vacuum cleaners many times a week and even on a daily basis during fall season, I settled for a the top of the line, Echo, which seemed to be well engineered.
The first blower/vacuum that I used was ES211. It outlived its warranty period, but failed in its third year despite changing the starter assembly and cord during the warranty period.
My second ES211 lasted just 18 months. Its engine broke down and just stopped to function. The heavy duty model, ES231, that I bought next cost me $290 excluding taxes and is only one year old now, but it gets overheated fast, produces smokes and the plastic grill around the engine is getting melted. The dealers of the product put the blame on me, saying that lack of lubrication caused the problem.
The Toro 51599 Ultra electric blower / vacuum is different. It is capable of doing what I want it to do. It is much lighter compared to gas powered models and hence it does not cause any strain when you carry its weight and that of a bag of leaves. This is definitely an advantage as you age.
The changeover of the Toro 51599 from blower to vacuum can be done without a screwdriver and force. This is a welcome modification that Toro has brought about.
Since it makes only very less noise compared to the gasoline models, your neighbors will definitely be happy. Maintenance is less as it does not have spark plug, air filters, oil filters, etc. The 51599 operates on electricity, it remains clean.
It does not get dirty like the gas powered models due to oil leakage, grime, exhaust and leaky carburetors and tubing. You can do away with the trouble of running around and buying gasoline, storing inflammable oil, and mixing them for use.
Further, the magnesium impeller in the Toro 51599 handles the twigs or stones that come in at times and the leaf bag designed in such a way that it can be easily disconnected and emptied.
The power of the air blast from the blower and vacuum suction are more or less same as that of Echo. Toro cost me only $69.97. I can buy four of the same machine for the price of one Echo ES 231.
Having listed all the advantages, I would like to point out the only disadvantage of Toro. I have to use a 100 ft long electric cord of 13 amperes rating and reel and hence the mobility is hampered as I have to drag it around. Nothing in life is perfect. You have give up some things to get some things.
If you are thinking of getting an electric blower / vacuum, click on the button on the right to order the Toro 51599 from Amazon.com and have is shipped to your doorstep right now!
